My name is Josh and I nerd out about a lot of things: traveling, puppies, NPR Podcasts, mythology, RuPaul's Drag Race, Netflix shows, and - of course! - Astrology & Tarot.
My interest in Astrology & Tarot started very young. When I was a kid, my parents would take me to the library at least once a week (see - nerd!) and I would immediately run to Occult/Supernatural section. I was enamored with mythology, witchcraft, astrology - they all seemed mysterious and powerful to me. Despite my early fascination, I hid this interest for much of my life out of fear for how others might react. Although my parents were wonderful and very much supported me in being my authentic self, I grew up in a conservative, Roman Catholic area and the practices were seen as very taboo.
The beauty of astrology, however, is that it provides a lens through which we can see ourselves and work through barriers to our Purpose.
I rediscovered my love of these practices in college. But my practice kicked into high gear after my Saturn Return. Saturn Returns help us identify how much distance stands between the path we’re on and the path we’re meant to be on. In my case, I was on the right path but in the wrong place. I started a new career, moved to a new place, and it was there that I began diving headfirst into yoga, astrology, and tarot.
Over the past six years, I’ve studied under numerous practitioners, gained a few certificates, graduated from a few programs, and have finally pulled enough 6 of Pentacles cards in my tarot readings to know that it’s time to lean into my Purpose:
helping others unlock their innermost potential.
I see Tarot and Astrology as tools through which we can better understand the human experience. And it through using all the tools in our toolkit that we can truly lean into our purpose. In my studies, I have been able to become more comfortable and open about who I am. By using what I’ve learned, I hope to do the same for you.
